Here is the first picture from my travels: Taken on an early morning in September 1989, it shows the view into Grand Canyon, Arizona. We hiked down to Plateau Point (basically where you see the trail end), and then back up. It was a beautiful, but very hot day!

Also from September 1989, a picture from Bryce Canyon, Utah.

The picture below was taken on the Milford Track in Fiordland National Park on the South Island of New Zealand in March 1990. The Milford Track is a four day hike which goes through incredible scenery. The picture is taken in a dense rainforest, with a long exposure time to give the flowing water a silky, smoky look. New Zealand is one of the few places that have temperate climate rainforests, some of which are right next to glaciers! I was backpacking through New Zealand at the time, going the cheapest way possible, and the best and cheapest way of seeing the New Zealand nature is by hiking, or "tramping" as the Kiwis say...

This is a far more recent picture (August 2007) taken from Vancouver Island. Nice, eh? The scenery on Vancouver Island reminded me a lot of the South Island in New Zealand. Temperate rain forests, steep mountains, deep oceans. You have to go there.
